The one about killing the Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs’ refers to one of Aesop’s Fables: “A fool and his wife had a bird that laid a golden egg every day. They supposed that the bird must contain a great lump of gold in it’s innards, and in order to get the gold they killed it. Having done so, they found to their surprise that the bird was the same inside as their other birds. The fools, thus hoping to become rich all at once, deprived themselves of the gain of which they were assured day by day.”
The second is a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm.
The hero is the youngest of three brothers, given the nickname Simpleton. His eldest brother is sent into the forest to chop wood, fortified with a rich cake and a bottle of wine. He meets a little grey man who begs a morsel to eat and a swallow of ale but is rebuffed. The eldest brother meets an accident and is taken home. The second brother meets a similar fate. Simpleton, sent out with a biscuit cooked in the ashes of the hearth and soured beer, is generous with the little old man and is rewarded with a golden goose. The goose has been discovered within the roots of the tree chosen by the little grey man and felled by Simpleton.
With the goose under his arm, Simpleton heads for an inn where as soon as his back is turned, the innkeeper’s daughter attempts to pluck just one of the feathers of pure gold and is stuck fast. Her sister comes to help her and is stuck fast too. The youngest daughter is determined not to be left out of the riches where she ends up stuck to the second. Simpleton makes his way to the castle and each person who attempts to interfere is joined to the unwilling parade ranging from the parson, his sexton, and two labourers.
In the castle lives the King with a princess who has never laughed. But the despondent princess, sitting by the window and glimpsing the parade staggering after Simpleton and his golden goose, laughed until she cried.
As can be seem by the altered image above, the tales can be combined to show by analogy the stupidity of the EU’s desire to keep the UK shackled to the EU. You see the Eurocrats desire one thing above all others: they want to establish the Euro as the world’s reserve currency.
This is NOT going to happen!
Firstly, were the US $ cease to become the world’s reserve currency, the US economy would be unable to support the gigantic accrued debt and there would follow a collapse which would of course spread throughout the world economy.
Secondly, in order to become a reserve currency CRUDE OIL would have to be traded in Euros and not the US $. Russia will NOT allow that to happen!
Thirdly, London, if not in the Eurozone, must be replaced by Frankfurt as the major financial centre in Europe.
This is WHY the UK did not join the Euro. The price the British Europhiles demanded (for UK membership of the Euro) was that London be the financial capital of the Eurozone. The Germans and the French were NOT going to allow that to happen!
FACT 1: NO British government could possibly allow the City of London to be taken over and or neutralised by the EU.
FACT 2: The City of London – the world’s largest financial capital – is the Goose that lays the Golden Eggs for the UK. Evidence of this can be found in the recent Chinese decision to have their companies quoted on the London stock exchange and for London to be an offshore base for Chinese capital.
FACT 3: The Chinese decision PROVES that the City of London HAS a long term future outside the Eurozone and therefore outside the EU.
What we are seeing is a furious SECRET argument between David Cameron and George Osborne and Angela Merkel and François Hollande about just how much of the Norway Option will the UK be allowed.
There are many EuroRealists who argue that the two campaigns arguing for the UK to leave the EU should campaign for the Norway Option and counter Cameron’s lies. Their aim is a two stage withdrawal: Firstly get the UK into the position of Norway and then deal with the borders issue.
There is LOGIC in this argument. However, the forces cited above are FAR more powerful than individual politicians and the “powers-that-be” in the City of London will not idly stand by and see London displaced. Furthermore, the migration crisis will likely bring about changes that will result in what many people are wanting in relation to this issue of border control.
