Above, an unusual portrayal of England’s patron saint in the church of St Mary, Chediston in Suffolk , referencing Shakespeare; “Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’” Henry V.
Of all the four patron saints of the British Isles, St George is the saint who’s feast day is not celebrated to anything like the extent when compared to the others, St. Andrew for Scotland, St David for Wales and in particular, St Patrick for Ireland.
There is a website that has been set up to encourage a greater recognition of St. George in England.

The following Wikipedia article contains much information on St. George.

NB: St. George did slay the dragon. Might we slay something on the 23rd of the month in two months time?
