The Conservatives have responded gleefully with a poster declaring that the country cannot continue like this ?

Why not ?

Since the ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon the government of this country has been formerly handed over to a foreign power. Thus the antics of Messrs. Hewitt and Hoon can best be described as being akin to reorganising the deck chairs on the Titanic’s promenade deck as she slipped beneath the waters of the North Atlantic.

For instance, in respect of the proposed takeover U.S. food group Kraft Foods Inc to take over confectionery maker Cadbury, European Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes has declared:
“….In view of the remedies offered, I am satisfied that the proposed takeover would not adversely affect competition anywhere in Europe and that consumers would not be worse off…”

So that’s that then. This of course means that the successor to the office of the President of the Board of Trade – Lord Mandleson who now glorifies under the title, “First Secretary of State” is as potent a force as a chocolate teapot…..
